The Fjaer has a number of features starting with the extended tang and Xross Lock. Going back to the early Greeks the principle of the lever is well understood as a way of increasing the effective force that can be applied at a point. With the extended tang we use this principle in reverse, by providing a longer tang, the knife has greater lateral strength, less blade wobble and better comfort for the critical index finger in hard use. The blade is made from a prmium stainless clad damascus steel. The core steel is VG 10 stainless hardened to RC62-64 for excellent edge life. Then 16 layers of 410 stainless steel are laminated on each side to provide superior toughness. Learn More
