The Fjaer has a number of features starting with the 1) extended tang and 2) Xross Lock.

Going back to the early Greeks the principle of the lever is well understood as a way of increasing the effective force that can be applied at a point. With the extended tang we use this principle in reverse, by providing a longer tang, the knife has greater lateral strength, less blade wobble and better comfort for the critical index finger in hard use. The Xross Lock works with this extended tang to provide one of the industry’s toughest and safest locking systems.
